Inspirational Woman – Nancy Thibault

What is your name and where are you from?Nancy & her girls

Nancy Thibault and I live in Shrewsbury, MA

Are you married and do you have children?

My husband’s name is Paul and I have three grown daughters.

What do you do for a living?

I work for Rainbow Child Development Center, in Worcester, a non-profit agency that works with at-risk children. I’m a Strategic Communication and Development Manager for the agency.

How many days do you work out and how do you stay motivated?Nancy

I’ve been exercising for many years, because I enjoy it. It’s a great release for me.  I’ve been going to Kelly’s killer 5:15 a.m. boot camp classes, 3 mornings a week for the past six months.

I’m motivated by the fact that regular exercise plays a major role in the quality of your life.  Without exercise, life would be boring…..I wouldn’t be able to do what I deem as fun, which includes dancing, traveling, hiking, biking, running and to get back into downhill skiing.

What is your favorite clean eating food? Cheat food?

Clean eating – fresh salad with sweet peppers, onions and tomatoes

Cheat – Tortilla Chips and let’s not forget…..chocolate!

snowshoe What advice would you give someone just starting out on a new fitness plan?

Work out because you Can!  Challenge yourself – don’t beat yourself up, but challenge  yourself to do a little more each time you work out. It’s good for the soul and you probably will be surprised that you’ll walk a little taller knowing that you’re doing something that will keep you healthier and happier.

Working out with a group keeps you going and makes the time fly!  Each workout is unique so I’d suggest to give each workout  your “Personal Best” and believe “you can do this!”  With that attitude, you’ll feel better, laugh more, and enjoy all that life has to offer.  Bootcamp is intense exercise that helps women become stronger and fearless– inside and out!

What have you learned so far from being in bootcamp about yourself?Nancy at home

I’ve learned that I’m stronger than I thought I was. I’m one of the older boot campers – (it doesn’t bother me) because boot camp workouts has reminded me that age is truly just a number.  I love the combination of the exercises, Kelly’s positive attitude and even the sore muscles the day after, at least you know “you’re work’n it!”

Write a couple lines on how you feel about bootcamp…..

I love/hate 5:15 a.m. bootcamp.  I get my workout gear ready the night before so I don’t have an excuse not to go.  Monday, is leg day. It’s an excellent way to start the week…..not the easiest… but a very good way to start the day.  The work outs are always different, music is on and Kelly is there to cheer you on.   I feel lucky to have Bootcamp and the friendships that are part of the program too, have become a special part of my life!

What is your favorite clean eating food? Cheat food?

Clean eating – egg whites with spinach any time of the day.

What advice would you give someone just starting out on a new fitness plan?

Do it for you, find what works for you, what keeps your interest and what makes you feel good. Endorphin highs are a real thing, so don’t stop until you get there because that’s what will keep you hooked. Make sure that whatever you’re doing you are enjoying the time just for you – use it to either think about things or forget about things – its your workout you can do whatever you want!

What have you learned so far from being in bootcamp about yourself?

I’ve learned that “you get what you put into it” is true. And it doesn’t have to be 100% 100% of the time – its not realistic. No matter what, I get there. Some days I just go through the motions, but at least I got there. I go crazy without it!

Write a couple lines on how you feel about bootcamp…..

I guess you could say I am a little addicted to bootcamp! I have been hooked since day 1, and have been going for 4 1/2 years straight! It is what works for me. I love (/hate) the early mornings, love the people, love Kelley and Gina, and LOVE the workouts – always different and ALWAYS challenging – it never gets old. I also love that it is accessible to anyone and everyone – anything can be modified. You can be very pregnant and still get a good workout and be a part of the group! It works!

Write a couple lines on how you feel about bootcamp…..

Bootcamp has changed me for the better in so many ways!  I am so much more comfortable in my own skin now and have a new sense of confidence.  It has shown through in all areas of my life.  I couldn’t have done it without Kelley’s support and motivation.  She was there pushing me to be the best that I could at 5:15 in the morning.  I mean, who’s that happy that early?

I’m in the best shape of my life and feeling great!!

Inspirational Woman – Agnieszka Serafin

AgnieszkaWhen a friend asked on FB if anyone wants to join her at Kelley’s Bootcamp For Women, I thought why not… This was August of 2013. Even though getting up at 4:30 in the morning to get to the bootcamp sucks, this was the BEST decision I have made in a long time. I have been struggling with my weight since I gave birth to my youngest daughter and that was 8 years ago. I have tried different diets, exercise programs but sooner or later I FAILED!!! Kelley has helped change my life for the better. Her upbeat personality, constant support, and motivation helped me go through the toughest times when I thought about giving up on myself. She always kept me motivated and recognized when my body finally started to change. Kelley is a tough athlete and expects nothing less but the best you can give. There were times when I barely made it to my car after her bootcamp but it all felt good! I saw a difference in my appearance and people started to see the changes as well. Overall I’ve lost 50 lbs in less than a year. And I contribute this all to Kelly Tyan and her 5:15 Bootcamp for Women. THANKS SO MUCH KELLEY!!! I couldn’t have done it without you! Also, a big shout out to my fellow bootcampers for supporting me thought out my journey, you all are great!

Inspirational Woman – Sabrina Dickieson

sabrinaI just want to say that going to Kelleys Bootcamp every week and seeing my self do better and better each week is addicting.  Going to watch the fitness competition with Kelley and my sister Shannon last year sabrina with kelleyhas really inspired me about doing one next year. I know it’s going to be a lot of work but bootcamp really helps me remember to take it one week at a time. If I stay on track and follow Kelleys plan, anything could be possible. I have also just signed up for the ROCrace in Boston. This is encouraging me to do more cardio in between bootcamp. Shannon, my sister, is a big inspiration to me. She pushes me harder at every class and at home and is always telling me how proud she is of me!

In February 2014, when I decided to set a personal goal to feel comfortable in my own skin for an upcoming birthday, the first person I contacted was Kelley Tyan! I spent the next 3 months working out in her Bootcamp and even joining her biggest loser challenge! I would have never thought I would actually WIN the challenge, dropping 12 pounds in just 3 1/2 short weeks by following her diet and exercise plan! For newbies, just give yourself time.  In four weeks time, you will see a difference, and will want to do more.  Treat yourself on a weekend night, maybe Friday or Saturday so you don’t feel deprived.  When you exercise regularly and eat the right food, you will have more energy, and will feel physically strong, and emotionally ready for whatever comes your way!
